Hailey Bieber’s skincare line is actually kinda good

Hailey Bieber’s Rhode skincare line actually has solid ingredients at a reasonable price.

These days it seems every celebrity is pushing some cream or serum, but Justin Bieber’s better half, Hailey Bieber’s skincare line is actually worth a look.

That’s because the model’s new skincare line is somewhat unusual among celebrity brands. It’s both affordable and offers a reasonable menu of active ingredients. In fact, the low price point is one of Bieber’s top goals.

Mission accomplished. The model’s “Restore” cream is only $29. It doesn’t have an SPF, so it would be best deployed at night. However, the listed ingredients are solid if you don’t yet have serious age-related concerns.

Hailey Bieber’s skincare line’s ingredients unpacked

Bieber is only 26, so she’s not selling a powerful anti-aging arsenal — at least not yet.

Her cream, serum, and sold-out lip balms all feature a combination of gently hydrating peptides, vitamins, and traditional moisturizing ingredients like shea butter and glycerin. It’s not cutting-edge stuff, but that’s a good thing. She’s selling proven ingredients for a fair price, without making any misleading claims.

Compare that to Bieber’s long-time family friend Kim Kardashian’s skincare line, SKKN by Kim.

The complete set of Kardashian’s 9-step regimen costs a whopping $673.

Kim even sells a $65 “Vanity” tray made of concrete.

You can pick up Kim’s face cream by itself for $85, but the key ingredient is an “alfalfa complex. The site claims this ingredient works like retinol, but a major study from 2020 concludes only that alfalfa might work, theoretically. More study is needed.

If you don’t have the cash for Kardashian’s premium line, I’d recommend you just buy a cheap retinol cream, and here is why.

Hailey Bieber might be the perfect vessel for an honest skincare brand

Bieber’s stripped-down Rhode brand isn’t reinventing the skincare game. She’s using her famously fresh face to sell a plausibly effective moisturizer to younger consumers who aren’t yet looking for serious wrinkle reversal.

I got a chance to meet the model at New York fashion week back when she was still Hailey Baldwin.

This was before her marriage to Justin Bieber, obviously. She was walking the runway alongside supermodel powerhouse Gigi Hadid in a show for Tommy Hilfiger. Backstage she was protectively flanked by her famous dad, actor Stephen Baldwin.

My encounter with Hailey is brief, but when you see her in person, you realize the glowing skin she’s rocking in these Rhode Skincare ads is no photoshop trick. Bieber is one of those models whose stunning skin stands out even among other models.

Sure Bieber’s good looks are genetic. She comes from a family of actors and models, but the simple yet proven ingredients she’s offering with Rhode products (like Niacinimide, and vitamin C) tell you she knows how to nourish her skin too.

This is a solid choice for anyone on a budget looking to start a real nighttime routine for the first time.
